Segun Iroko, an MBA Graduate, with PGD and HND in accounting, PhD Student and an Associate Members of the Chartered Institute Marketers, has specialties in the fields of micro insurance research, microfinance and microenterprise capacity building and curriculum development with over eight years consulting, research, rating policy formulation and capacity building experience with a focus on micro insurance, microfinance banking, MSME BDS services, capacity building and establishment of co-operatives and value chain financing.
He was one of the national consultants for the World Bank/IFC and GIZ initiated Nigeria Micro insurance Country Survey in Lagos and Kano in June 2010 and successfully completed the quantitative survey of over 1000 households and qualitative survey involving 9 focus group discussions. He was also the local team leader for the just concluded World Bank MSME project in Lagos and Aba. He has been part of several research for SMEs and MFIs andMFB’s, coordinating the planning, conducting the research and report writing. He has regulatory, commercial and microfinance practical experience.
His other areas of proficiency are formation of small business, setting up and managing NGOs, supporting SMEs and MFIs with the right kind of resources for effective performance, marketing of organisational vision and mission, technical assistance and research in the areas of institutional transformation, micro insurance, strategic plans and operations manual development, product development, institutional capacity building, social performance management, poverty assessment and impact evaluation in cooperative society, community banking and microfinance. He has literary contributions in entrepreneurship courses, economics and banking.
Mr. Segun’s practical experience in NGO operations, Banking, Microfinance Banking and MSME BDS was gained from his more than Seven years’ experience working with CBN, Oceanic Bank, Centre for Microenterprise Development and several consulting assignments.
